(Grabbed this shot with my phone today, so it's not the best, but it gives you an idea of how she looks now :)
As is our tradition, the Friday after Thanksgiving is saved for shopping. Just not the Black Friday sort of shopping most love to do. It's just one very special item that's on our wishlist ... our glorious Christmas tree. This year was a bit different as the daddy was unable to come with us, after having shoulder surgery just a few days before. So we relied on Uncle Bob to cut down our tree for us and all the extra work that goes along with hauling a tree home and into a stand. We are so grateful to him as this had to be crazy exhausting!
We had a ball hunting for our tree together with some of the cousins at Whispering Pines Tree Farm. I tend to love fuller trees but tried really hard to go with something a little less "symmetrical" this year. Really, I'm happy with whatever shape the tree takes as long as it will bear the weight of all my twinkling ornaments. Oh, and make my home smell like pine goodness-y Christmas. Then I'm a happy mama.
Anyway, here is much of our day pictures ...
And a few moments lighting and trimming the tree the next morning.
(Just another cute festive spot we're working)
Hope to keep these Christmas picture journals coming in the month of December. Fall just ran away from me and I have so much still left to share from October and November. Goodness! I'll post those pictures sometime in mid-winter when we're all lackluster and begging for inspiration again. ;) Surely all those pumpkins and ciders will help.
