I recently sped off to Chicago for a mini getaway with my sister and 2 dear friends and it was just what I needed. We're midway through summer break here in Green Bay and I have to admit that I'm going a little (no, actually a LOT) crazy, so a girl's mini vacay came at the perfect time. We had a huge list of places to eat (Restoration Hardware's restaurant being top of the list) and a smaller list of boutiques to shop, so we made some awesome stops along the way. We also added a number of touristy destinations to visit, places like Navy Pier and the cloud gate. Anyway, here are some of my favorite shots! (I mixed in a few iPhone shots too)
(Restoration Hardware Store and restaurant - get there early, you'll have a long wait, but you can shop the multiple level showroom for hours if you like and they'll text you when your table is ready)
(Shopping on Michigan Ave. - Loved this jacket from Free People. Also loved Lush which was a first time visit for me. Bought their rainbow play dough for the kids bath time. It turns the bath a color, makes bubbles, smells fruity, acts like actual play dough, and can be used to wash their hair like shampoo! I mean! GREAT stocking stuffer come Christmas time.)
(Navy Pier - Ubered over cause our 2 friends are pregnant and we'd made them walk for miles already. Was so beautiful to visit at night and people watch.)
(Stan's Donuts - Hard to find cause Google maps thought it was in the middle of a building. Ha! Get the nutella pocket. There are bananas inside!)
(Chicago River - I kept thinking, "I must come back when they turn this green for St Patrick's Day!")
(A walk through art fest. Fun little extra happening that day. They were giving out free pizza, kale chips and sweet tea!)
(The Chicago bean or Cloud Gate. So cool, so hysterically busy that day and we all had the same plan, to take a million pictures!)
And there you have it! We love Chicago!
