Finally, our last full day in New York City! We started off with donuts, something that was recommended to me over and over again, and this place did not disappoint. Dough was super duper yummy! After breakfast and coffee, we took the train to Central Park and made our way to Tavern on the Green for a Bloody Mary (I know, quite the combination so far!), then went for a long stroll around the park to find some of those beautiful spots we've seen in pictures and on TV. It was an incredible place and the nannies watching all of those littles made for some fascinating people watching towards the end. :)
After Central Park we met up with our dear friend/cousin Kate and her little man Edison and went for a walk through Soho, shopping at All Saints (where I happened to find the perfect leather jacket ever created!) and stopping for macaroons at Laduree. We checked out Dean and Delucca and a few other fun, new to me stores and then went for a walk through TriBeCa, where we made a stop at Taylor Swift's new apartment (to take a pic for my niece Adorlee - promise ;) and the spots where they're filming the new Ninja Turtles movie and a few other shows. We then continued walking on to the Ground Zero Memorial, which was unbelievable to see in person ...
9/11 Memorial
After the memorial we went to the West Village for dinner at Lupa but made a stop at Sockerbit Sweet and Swedish first.
After dinner we took the train to Brooklyn Bridge Park to meet another dear friend. Liza, one who we grew up with in South Africa and who currently resides in Brooklyn with her lovely family. We caught up on life while we walked around and took in the stunning skyline at night.
And on our final day in New York, my sister had an appointment to have a hair cut at Sally Hershberger with Matt Fugate. Pretty awesome experience! And there you have it. New York City in a nutshell ;) ;)
